Exercise Two: Importing a Reference from PubMed

Pub Med is the National Library of Medicine's web based article database. It is a wonderful service to librarians all over the world who assist in searching the medical literature. Although it is possible to link directly in to Pub Med through the EndNote platform, many librarians prefer to do their research on Pub Med and then import their selected articles directly from the Pub Med portal. The following tutorial will demonstrate how a citation is located in Pub Med and then imported into EndNote. During this exercise, the librarian should be thinking about the value of the National Library of Medicine and the effort they have put into making Pub Med and excellent web based article database. Also, consider why it may be in the librarian's advantage to import records from Pub Med into EndNote instead of directly using EndNote's Pub Med interface. Please comment on the questions and practice importing records from Pub Med into EndNote after viewing the short tutorial.
