A search for EndNote tutorials on the web will bring up several library created tutorials on the use of the EndNote software. One thing to consider if you and your library patrons are using EndNote is creating a tutorial that is tailored to the particular ways in which EndNote is used at your library. For this assignment, please review these EndNote tutorials from different libraries. Please provide feedback on what you found helpful or what may have been confusing in these tutorials. Also, think about what type of EndNote tutorial would be helpful at your library and brainstorm some possible ideas for creating one.

Exercise Four: Generating a Bibliography
Often librarians are asked to conduct literature searches on a specific topic and are required to present the results of their search to the patron. The patron will then review the search results and provide feedback to the librarian regarding these results. Typically the librarian will then proceed with acquiring the desired documents or will continue with a more focused search. This exercise focuses on using the bibliography tool in EndNote as a efficient method of providing a well organized search result document that the patron can easily review for feedback. After viewing the tutorial please take some time to practice generating bibliographies based on a particular EndNote group. Also, please provide some feedback on the process of generating bibliographies using EndNote. Also, take some time to brainstorm some other ways which this tool may be used to assist in literature search or the information dissemination process.

Exercise Three: Attaching a Document File to a Record in EndNote
A helpful feature included in the EndNote software is the ability to attach a document file directly to the document record in EndNote. For librarians who perform literature searches, this can add a whole new level of service to the literature search. For this assignmet,a tutorial has been created demonstrating how to attach a document file to the corresponding EndNote record. Please consider some different ways this feature can be used to better assist you in serving your patrons. Why do you think it may be beneficial to have this feature in EndNote. Think about the benefits from the perspective of delivering search results to a patron.

Exercise Two: Importing a Reference from PubMed
Pub Med is the National Library of Medicine's web based article database. It is a wonderful service to librarians all over the world who assist in searching the medical literature. Although it is possible to link directly in to Pub Med through the EndNote platform, many librarians prefer to do their research on Pub Med and then import their selected articles directly from the Pub Med portal. The following tutorial will demonstrate how a citation is located in Pub Med and then imported into EndNote. During this exercise, the librarian should be thinking about the value of the National Library of Medicine and the effort they have put into making Pub Med and excellent web based article database. Also, consider why it may be in the librarian's advantage to import records from Pub Med into EndNote instead of directly using EndNote's Pub Med interface. Please comment on the questions and practice importing records from Pub Med into EndNote after viewing the short tutorial.

Exercise One: Creating EndNote Libraries and Library Groups
This first excercise focuses on setting up an Endnote Library and then creating subsequent groups within that library. In order to participate in this exercise the librarian will need to have EndNote installed and ready to go. During this exercise, please think about how you would go about organizing documents in your library and brainstorm on how EndNote may be able to help with this process. Also think about the differences between EndNote Libraries and Library groups. Is there an advantage to creating a group within an Endnote Library. After you go through the training materials, please practice setting up an EndNote Library. Secondly, please provide some feedback regarding the questions posed above and also on your experience creating an EndNote Library and Library Groups.
